Since all EFI-based systems support GPT, this commit changes
pc_x86_64_efi to use a GPT partition table. It shows an example of how
to craft a disk image with GPT partitioning instead of MBR. This is
achieved by means of a post-image script which uses
mkdosfs+mcopy+sfdisk, since genimage is unable to deal with GPT. Long
term, it would be ideal if genimage had GPT support, but until then,
this script shows how to achieve creating a GPT-based disk image.
The script was kept as simple as possible to make it easy to understand
and adapt for other purposes.
The root filesystem location is passed to the kernel by a partition
UUID, so it is possible to boot on QEMU, directly from the disk image,
or dump the image to a physical device.

This patch updates the csky custom external toolchain to fix a broken
host dependency of gdb on libexpat.so.0 (most hosts now ship
libexpat.so.1). gdb is required to copy and and boot the kernel (see
board/csky/readme.txt). The updated gdb no longer has this host
dependency, which solves the issue.
Since this external toolchain was built and tested with csky kernel
4.9.56, this patch also updates to that kernel version.
Finally, this 4.9.56 csky kernel changed its default bootargs. So we
add a patch to preserve the same behavior as the previous version.

The U-Boot part of the defconfig was not specifying explicitly any
U-Boot version. Since commit 21e3ae8a18
("boot/uboot: default to kconfig buildsystem for latest version"), we
default to using the kconfig build system when the default U-Boot
version is used. Following this change, the apf27 defconfig therefore
started using kconfig, for which the BR2_TARGET_UBOOT_BOARDNAME
Config.in option is not used. Due to this, the build fails with:
boot/uboot/uboot.mk:411: *** No board defconfig name specified, check your BR2_TARGET_UBOOT_BOARD_DEFCONFIG setting. Stop.
Indeed, when Kconfig is used, the board defconfig must be specified
with BR2_TARGET_UBOOT_BOARD_DEFCONFIG.

Bump U-Boot to version 2018.11. This version supports autodetection of
SD/eMMC boot source, so we can now enable environment load from SD card.
Add a U-Boot kconfig fragment that sets SD/eMMC as environment load/save
device. This avoids stale environment values from the SPI flash. That in
turn, allows to use the more convenient distro boot which is enabled in
the default environment.
Bump kernel to version 4.19.2. This version enables
CONFIG_PHY_MVEBU_CP110_COMPHY in the arm64 defconfig, so remove it from

The "development" defconfigs for Atmel platforms enable both OpenSSH
and Dropbear, which doesn't make a lot of sense, as only one SSH
server can start on port 22.
This commit therefore drops BR2_PACKAGE_DROPBEAR=y from those
defconfigs, keeping OpenSSH as an SSH server/client, as was requested
by Atmel/Microchip folks in the review of an earlier version of this
patch [1]. Since those defconfigs are "development" defconfigs, they
are not meant to be minimal, and already provide an arbitrary set of
packages, so using openssh is just as good as using dropbear in this

Note that we continue to use the Linux 4.4.x kernel provided by
Marvell, and not yet their Marvell 4.14.x version. Indeed Marvell
currently considers its 4.4.x BSP as the feature-complete and stable
one, while 4.14.x is in development/QA and is expected to become the
new default BSP by the end of 2018. So let's stick with 4.4.x for now,

In commit 2cdfa6c849 ("synopsys/axs10x:
Update /etc/inittab by post-build"), two Synopsys platforms were
changed to use a post-build script adding an extra getty in the
inittab instead of a rootfs overlay containing a custom
inittab. However, in this commit, configs/snps_archs38_vdk_defconfig
was not changed, even though it was using the same rootfs overlay.
This commit therefore adjusts configs/snps_archs38_vdk_defconfig to
also use the newly introduced post-build script, fixing the build of
configs/snps_archs38_vdk_defconfig.

This reverts commit 18e8cf159177100e69d528293f8cf6875c0b1bca (kernel)
The last Qemu kernel update [1] introduced a regresion in sh4 SCIF
serial device. Some keyboard presses are very slow to be taken into
account, perhaps not even taken into account at all. This would
explain why our test infrastructure doesn’t manage to login as root
[2][3][4].
git bisect reported a kernel patch from 4.11, increasing RX FIFO
trigger defaults value for sh-sci (H)SCIF. The kernel patch itself
looks good but the Qemu emulation is not ready to handle this new
setting.
>From Qemu (2.12.0): target/sh4/README.sh4
"Configuration of the second serial port (SCIF) is supported. FIFO
handling infrastructure has been started but is not completed yet."
We can't use the first serial port (ttySC0) because it's the second
SH UART that's emulated by Qemu.
In order to be able to test sh4 architecture with newer kernel,
revert to the old behaviour.

The linux git trees on github can be huge, and takes a long time to
download, which is not very nice nor convenient for newcomers.
Switch them to using a wget, with the github macro.
A nice side effect of this conversion, is that we no longer need to wait
for the git clone to finish to notice that the ref is gone; doing a wget
will instantly fail in that case.
Mechanical patch, obtained by running (hang-on tight):
$ sed -r -i -e 's/BR2_LINUX_KERNEL_CUSTOM_GIT/BR2_LINUX_KERNEL_CUSTOM_TARBALL/; /BR2_LINUX_KERNEL_CUSTOM_REPO_URL/N; s:BR2_LINUX_KERNEL_CUSTOM_REPO_URL="https\://github.com/([^/]+)/(.+)"\nBR2_LINUX_KERNEL_CUSTOM_REPO_VERSION="(.+)":BR2_LINUX_KERNEL_CUSTOM_TARBALL_LOCATION="$(call github,\1,\2,\3)/linux-\3.tar.gz":; s/(call github.*)\.git/\1/;' $(grep -l 'BR2_LINUX_KERNEL_CUSTOM_REPO_URL="https://github.com' configs/*)

My goal was to rely on upstreamed features as much as possible, which
means that some bits are only half-baked for now:
- Due to the DTS restructuring in upstream kernel, we require 4.11+. The
latest LTS or CIP kernels do not know about the -Base model.
- Linux has no generic support for SFP cages (yet). It seems that this
has hit the net-next tree in August 2017, but there's been no release
(it's probably targettting 4.14). Also, the merge only included the
required infrastructure; the mvneta driver conversion is not included.
Patches which finalize this exist in Russel King's tree and also in
random vendor trees.
- There's no access to the SPI flash in these versions of
uboot/linux/dts.

Synopsys DesignWare HSDK (which stands for ARC HS
Development Kit) is the latest and greatest development
platform that sports quad-core ARC HS38 in real silicon.
Most noticeable features of the board are:
* Quad-core ARC HS38 CPU running at 1GHz
* 4Gb of DDR
* Built-in Vivante GPU (well supported via open source
Etnaviv drivers)
* Built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module (RedPine RS-9113)
And as usual we have:
* [micro] SD-card slot
* 2 USB 2.0 ports
* 1Gbit Ethernet port
* Built-in Digilent JTAG probe
* Serial port accessible via micro-USB port
Writing sdcard.img on SDcard creates two partitions:
* FAT32 with uImage and uboot.env
* EXT4 with root filesystem
We modify kernel config because in default hsdk kernel config
CONFIG_INITRAMFS_SOURCE parameter is set and when we build
rootfs separately (BR2_TARGET_ROOTFS_INITRAMFS is not set)
error appears. Also we set up CONFIG_ARC_UBOOT_SUPPORT which
enables usage of uboot variables in the boot process.

raspberrypi0_defconfig. However, then you don't have support for the
Bluetooth out-of-the-box, which makes using a W a bit pointless.
Therefore, create a separate defconfig for the W. It is a copy of
raspberrypi0_defconfig with the following changes:
- Add DT overlays (from rpi-firmware) to support Bluetooth.
- Pass --add-pi3-miniuart-bt-overlay to post-image.sh.

complicated for a basic bootable example.

Currently in Orange Pi boards post-build script is used only to generate
U-Boot boot script and post-image script is used only to generate sdcard
image according to genimage configuration. However both those tasks can
now be handled by generic Buildroot tools:
- BR2_TARGET_UBOOT_BOOT_SCRIPT config options
- support/scripts/genimage.sh script
This patch drops custom scripts replacing them
by generic Buildroot tools.

Also include new boot scripts to match standard distro uboot commands.
Our previous 6x_bootscript and 6x_upgrade used custom variables and
their naming don't make sense now that we target more than i.MX6 CPU.
Therefore those old scripts are marked as legacy and kept for now but
the goal is to deprecate and remove them later.

We are about to introduce genimage support for the Zynq boards. For
all of them U-Boot loads the DTB from a file named "devicetree.dtb" so
we need to rename it on the SD card image.
We could use genimage itself to rename files while creating the
image. But this would require a different genimage.cfg for each board,
leading to duplicate code.
Instead let's create a "devicetree.dtb" symlink pointing to the dtb
listed in the configuration. Currently all the Zynq-based boards have
only one DTS configured, but if one had two or more of them, the
symlink would point to the first one.
[Peter: only create symlink if dtb option is available]

ATF can be used in different ways:
- ATF encapsulates U-Boot as the BL33, which is what is done on ARM
Juno (currently supported in Buildroot) and Marvell platforms (soon
to be supported)
- U-Boot encapsulates ATF's BL31, which is what is done on Allwinner
ARM64 platforms.
Until now we were assumming the former was always the case, but
obviously it isn't. Therefore, this patch adds an option that allows
to explicitly tell ATF that it encapsulates U-Boot as its BL33.
We adapt the only defconfig that uses ATF so that it enables this
option as appropriate.

Currently, our arm-trusted-firmware unconditionally builds a FIP
(Firmware Image Package). While this is often needed on platforms
where ATF encapsulates U-Boot, it is not the case on some other
platforms where it's U-Boot that encapsulates parts of ATF.
In order to prepare the support for the later platforms, we make
building the FIP image optional, and update the only defconfig we have
that uses ARM Trusted Firmware.
Note: we considered adding a "default y" here to preserve backward
compatibility, but there really isn't any default that is sane:
whether a FIP image needs to be built or not is purely platform
specific.

currently, specifying a custom Xtrensa core is done with two variables:
- the core name
- the directory containing the overlay tarball
However, the core name only serves to construct the tarball name, and is
not used whatsoever to configure any of the toolchain components
(binutils, gcc or gdb), except through the files that are overlayed in
their respective source trees.
This has two main drawbacks:
- the overlay file must be named after the core,
- the tarball can not be compressed.
Furthermore, it also makes it extremely complex to implement a download
of that tarball.
So, those two variables can be squeezed into a single variable, that is
the complete path of the overlay tarball.
Update the qemu-xtensa defconfig accordingly.
Note: we do not add a legacy entry for BR2_XTENSA_CORE_NAME, since it
was previously a blind option in the last release, and there's been no
release since we removed BR2_XTENSA_CUSTOM_NAME. So, we just update the
legacy comments for BR2_XTENSA_CUSTOM_NAME, since that's all the user
could have seen in any of our releases so far.

Reusing the qemu x86-64 linux config isn't very obvious, so these defconfigs
aren't taken into consideration when the qemu defconfigs are updated,
breaking the build.
Instead use a custom linux config for the pc defconfigs. With this, we also
can get rid of the fragment file containing the delta fra the qemu config.
Created by linux-update-defconfig (after turning of the fragment file).
Also drop the linux kernel version number from the file name as it just
causes extra noise whenever the kernel is bumped.

The BR2_TOOLCHAIN_BUILDROOT_INET_RPC has been removed in commit
98f7de8796, following the removal from
upstream uClibc-ng of the RPC support.
However, armadeus_apf9328_defconfig was selecting this option, causing a
build failure due to the selection of a legacy option. We simply remove
it as anyway defconfigs should not needlessly enable toolchain options.

Back when galileo_defconfig was added, an explicit binutils version was
used, because only binutils >= 2.25 had support for the
-momit-lock-prefix option, necessary to workaround a CPU issue.
Support for binutils 2.25 has now been removed from Buildroot, and
therefore the option no longer exists, causing a build failure. The
oldest binutils version that can be selected in Buildroot is binutils
2.26, which has support for -momit-lock-prefix. Therefore, we simply
remove the explicit binutils version selection.

Since commit c6bca8cef0 removed autocalculation of the ext2 filesystem
size, the default size is now set to 60MB. However, this is too small
for pc_x86_64_efi_defconfig. Indeed, the ext2 filesystem contains the
kernel (4MB), the wireless modules (4MB), all firmware for wireless
modules (40MB), and the wifi userspace (9MB) and the udev hwdb (5MB)
which brings the total to 70MB.
Increase the filesystem size to 120000K, which is a nice and round
number and leaves enough space for overhead on a 128MB flash drive.

In commit 4b2440b7dc ("beaglebone: add DT
for BeagleBone Green"), both beaglebone_defconfig and
beaglebone_qt5_defconfig were updated to add "am335x-bonegreen" to the
list of Device Tree files to be produced.
However, beaglebone_qt5_defconfig uses an older kernel version than
beaglebone_defconfig, in which am335x-bonegreen doesn't exist.
Therefore, revert the change on beaglebone_qt5_defconfig.

We so far were using a Cortex-A7 as the CPU for the rpi3, as this was
the closest we had available, in 32-bit mode, to the real CPU used in
the rpi3.
But now we can also use the Cortex-A53 in 32-bit mode, so we use that,
which makes for an optimised build (A53 has an improved instruction set,
as compared to the A7).
Also drop the DTB overlay option, it defaults to 'y'.

The board support package includes the following components:
- U-Boot 2016.11
- Linux 4.9.3
- packages:
- alsa-utils for basic audio usage of the on-board headphone jack
and microphone
- iw and wpa_supplicant for managing the wireless interface
Two Linux patches are necessary to enable audio and wifi support. Both
patches are fetched from the Linux next branch and are probably mainlined in
Linux 4.11.
A Linux configuration fragment enables the wireless device driver, which
is not enabled by default in the mainline defconfig of the board.
The wifi chip needs a NVRAM configuration file which is provided in the

Nexbox A95X is a low cost Android STB based around an Amlogic s905(x) SoC
(quad A53), 8/16GB eMMC and 1/2GB RAM.
Both the s905 (gxbb) and s905x (gxl) variant is supported.
This defconfig uses mainline Linux. As the mainline support for s905 is
quite young, use the latest release candidate. There is currently no
support for this board in U-Boot or sources available for the vendor U-Boot,
so the defconfig doesn't build a u-boot and instead uses the existing U-Boot
available in the eMMC. This also means that we need to wrap the kernel as
uImage, which isn't suppported for aarch64. Instead this is done in the
post-build script.
Mainline aarch64 defconfig builds most drivers modular, so add mdev for
module autoloading.

ARM: 8158/1: LLVMLinux: use static inline in ARM ftrace.h
With compilers which follow the C99 standard (like modern versions of gcc and
clang), "extern inline" does the wrong thing (emits code for an externally
linkable version of the inline function). In this case using static inline
and removing the NULL version of return_address in return_address.c does
the right thing.

With this commit we upgrade U-Boot version to 2016.11 in
"snps_axs101_defconfig" and "snps_axs103_defconfig".
Important fixes: new version fixes U-Boot build for arc700. Since
gcc-6.x "-marc700" option is no longer supported, "-mcpu=arc700"
should be used instead.
