ODB is an open-source, cross-platform, and cross-database
object-relational mapping (ORM) system for C++. It allows you to
persist C++ objects to a relational database without having to deal
with tables, columns, or SQL and without manually writing any mapping
code.
ODB supports MySQL, SQLite, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL
Server relational databases as well as C++98/03 and C++11 language
standards. It also comes with optional profiles for Boost and Qt
which allow you to seamlessly use value types, containers, and smart
pointers from these libraries in your persistent C++ classes.
This package is used for auto-generating ODB specific header files
into useable code that can be linked against a seperate libodb and a
specific libodb database library. As such, it is only needed as a
host program and is not user selectable.

libcutl is distributed in source code and includes the standard autotools
build system as well as the VC++ project files. It is a dependency for odb.
Because ODB is a host-only package, and no other package depends on libcutl,
this package will also be a host-only package.

EarlyOOM daemon for triggering Linux OOM killer before running out of
memory, avoiding situations where the machine becomes unresponsive from
out of control swapping.
Some desktop distributions are installing and enabling this daemon by
default to prevent unresponsive machines in OOM scenarios.

This patch adds support for the i.MX8M Nano EVK Board [1].
The final boot image is created from uboot and firmware binaries in post
image script board/freescale/common/imx/imx8-bootloader-prepare.sh
Note that this config is based on 4.19.35_1.1.0 ; hence, the kernel
configuration needs host-openssl to build.

The author has completely ripped off the git tree, so the sources
are no longer available, with that message:
"Please look for alternatives for wiringPi"
And indeed there is a better alternative, using the kernel GPIO
subsystem and drivers.
Note that queezelite looses that functionality now, but upstream
squeezelite has done changes to do without wiringpi (hint for an
upgrade?).

This library provides an easy way to add styling to programs that produce
output to a console or terminal emulator window.
libtextstyle is for you if your application produces text that is more readable
when it is accompanied with styling information, such as color, font
attributes (weight, posture), or underlining.
Our gettext-gnu package currently has HOST_GETTEXT_GNU_SUBDIR = gettext-tools
so we only configure and build the gettext-tools sub-directory. Version 0.20.1
of gettext-gnu now requires libtextstyle, which the subdirectory gettext-tools
does not provide.
We have three options:
1) Add hooks to configure and build libtextstyle as a pre-configure hook in
gettext-gnu, and install it in a pre-install hook.
2) Revert to building the whole of gettext.
3) Add a separate package for libtextstyle.
Here are the results of a test with BR2_JLEVEL=4:
- Only gettext-tools: 38.86s user 22.13s system 124% CPU 49.035 total
- gettext + libtextstyle: 40.78s user 14.57s system 146% CPU 37.817 total
- All of gettext: 203.18s user 122.87s system 161% CPU 3:22.39 total
As seen above, compiling the entire gettext package takes 5x longer than
building libtextstyle and gettext separately!
As such, the best option is option 3, as the time increase to build
libtextstyle is negligible.
Tested with test-pkg -p gettext-tiny in Debian 10 and Centos 7

The layout of the package is not amenable to building both the library
and the utilities at once, so this package will only install the
library.
The other apparmor-related tools however will almost all want to always
link with the static library (it's hard-coded in their Makefiles, like:
AALIB = -Wl,-Bstatic -lapparmor -Wl,-Bdynamic -lpthread), so we also
force the build of the static library.
The kernel headers 3.16 at least are required, for CAP_AUDIT_READ.
We need to force the C standard to gnu99, otherwise:
- autoconf uses wchar_t in C99 test, so considers it to be missing
on toolchains without wchar, but wchar is not otherwise needed for
libapparmor;
- c99 is not enough, otherwise the build fails with errors like:

A defconfig for the nanopi_neo4 was added in
d1cd9cdf26, but then removed in
8af7b11bd8 because an ARM32 compiler was
needed to build ATF, and this was not supported back then.
Thanks to the addition of package/arm-gnu-a-toolchain/, we can now
re-introduce this defconfig.
Compared to the previous defconfig, the following changes were done:
- enable BR2_TARGET_ARM_TRUSTED_FIRMWARE_NEEDS_ARM32_TOOLCHAIN
- bump kernel to 5.4
- increase default rootfs size to 70M
- use mainline u-boot
- switch to Marek Belisko as maintainer

The support for MacchiatoBin board in U-Boot and Linux has been
significantly improved in the past years. So it no longer makes much
sense to have a separate build configuration based on older vendor
Linux kernel and U-Boot. This commit drops the configuration based on
vendor kernel and U-Boot and renames the mainline-based defconfig.

pkcs11-helper is a library that simplifies the interaction with
PKCS#11 providers for end-user applications. Pkcs11-helper allows
using multiple PKCS#11 providers at the same time, enumerating
available token certificates, or selecting a certificate directly by
serialized id, handling card removal and card insert events, handling
card re-insert to a different slot, supporting session expiration and
much more all using a simple API.

- Building on x86-64, for legacy BIOS
- Building on x86-64, for EFI BIOS
Runtime testing in Qemu would certainly be possible, but is left as a
future addition to these tests.

Do you really need Crypt::SSLeay?
Starting with version 6.02 of LWP, https support was unbundled into
LWP::Protocol::https. This module specifies as one of its prerequisites
IO::Socket::SSL which is automatically used by LWP::UserAgent unless
this preference is overridden separately. IO::Socket::SSL is a more
complete implementation, and, crucially, it allows hostname
verification. Crypt::SSLeay does not support this. At this point,
Crypt::SSLeay is maintained to support existing software that already
depends on it.
However, it is possible that your software does not really depend on
Crypt::SSLeay, only on the ability of LWP::UserAgent class to
communicate with sites over SSL/TLS.
If are using version LWP 6.02 or later, and therefore have installed
LWP::Protocol::https and its dependencies, and do not explicitly use
Net::SSL before loading LWP::UserAgent, or override the default socket
class, you are probably using IO::Socket::SSL and do not really need
Crypt::SSLeay.
Before installing Crypt::SSLeay, you may want to try specifying a
dependency on LWP::Protocol::https.

Note: even though the Chart.js developers make specific tarballs on GitHub
(i.e. not simply 'source code' tarballs), they cannot be used in Buildroot
because their names do not encode a version number, e.g. 'Chart.js.zip'.
This means that on upgrades, the same tarball name would have different
contents and thus a different hash.

GObject introspection is a middleware layer between C
libraries (using GObject) and language bindings. The C library
can be scanned at compile time and generate a metadata file,
in addition to the actual native C library. Then at runtime,
language bindings can read this metadata and automatically
provide bindings to call into the C library.
There's an XML format called GIR used by GObject-Introspection.
The purpose of it is to provide a standard structure to access the complete
available API that a library or other unit of code exports. It's
language-agnostic using namespaces to separate core, language, or
library-specific functionality.
Cross-compiling gobject-introspection is not an easy task. The main issue is
that in the process of creating the XML files, gobject-introspection must first
run and scan the binary, which, if the binary is cross-compiled, would not
typically be possible from the host system.
Because of this limitation, we use several wrappers to call instead first out
qemu, which runs the native scanner to create the binaries.
There are seven total patches and four different wrapper files needed to
successfully cross-compile and run this package, many of them are from
open-embedded, but one of them is of my own doing.
1) Revert a previous, incomplete attempt at adding cross-compiling support.
2) Add support for cross-compiling with meson.
3) Disable tests.
4) Add an option to use a binary wrapper; this patch will force giscanner to
use a wrapper executable to run binaries it's producing, instead of
attempting to run them from the host.
5) Add an option to use an LDD wrapper, again, useful for cross-compiled
environments.
6) Add a --lib-dirs-envar option to pass to giscanner. (See patch for details.)
7) Add rpath-links to ccompiler: when passing the PACKAGE_GIR_EXTRA_LIBS_PATH
to the ccompiler.py script, ccompiler.py needs to add -Wl,-rpath-link to the
environment for the package to correctly link against the passed on paths.
8) Ignore error return codes from ldd-wrapper because prelink-rtld returns 127
when it can't find a library, which breaks subprocess.check_output().

Prelink-cross emulates a runtime linker for a given sysroot. This is
necessary to allow gobject-introspection to build its typelib files
during cross-compiling.
We're using a sha1 on the cross_prelink branch, as we need the
RTLD-enabled variant of prelink-cross.

Some packages, like prelink-cross, want to use libiberty but do not bundle
their own instance (which is good!).
However, libiberty is made for being bundled in packages: all GNU
packages that use libiberty (gcc, Binutils, gdb, et al...) all have their own
bundled variant. This common practice means that there is no official upstream
for libiberty, the closest being as part of the combined Binutils-gdb tree.
So we introduce a new host-only package, that installs just libiberty from a
Binutils released tarball.
Again, as packages usually bundle libiberty, it usually only installs a static
version. Furthermore, it does not obey the usual --enable-shared and
--disable-static flags; it only ever builds a static version.
Furthermore, -fPIC is not used with this library, but some packages may pick it
to build shared objects. This behavior is the case for host-gdb, for example,
which accidentally picks that library instead of its internal one.
So, rather than fix the various gdb versions and variants we can use, we ensure
that the libiberty we install is usable in shared objects, and we always build
before host-gdb.

The first time I worked on the Buildroot's toolchain infra
was to add support for the Sourcery Codebench Standard
(licenced) edition toolchain (from Mentor Graphics) for
x86 target [1]. The series was rejected though.
But the knowledge gained from this work served to refactor
the toolchain-external infra in Buildroot [2].
Nowadays, I'm using toolchains-builder project to do
some toolchain build testing to keep GNU tools up to date
in Buildroot.

Gstreamer 0.10 has been deprecated upstream since 2012 and is missing a lot
of features and (security) fixes compared to gstreamer1, so remove it.
All gstreamer-0.10 sub packages depends on gstreamer, so we only need to add
a legacy entry for that.

GLSL Sandbox standalone player allow one to run and render
(most of) nice shaders available online on the
http://glslsandbox.com/ website, but without the need of an
Internet connection, a web browser or any of its
dependencies. Instead, the only requirement of
glslsandbox-player is a working EGL and GLESv2 libraries.
This package is useful for stressing and testing GLES shader
compiler in GPU drivers.

The RocksDB library provides a persistent key value store. Keys and
values are arbitrary byte arrays. The keys are ordered within the key
value store according to a user-specified comparator function.
The library is maintained by the Facebook Database Engineering Team, and
is based on LevelDB, by Sanjay Ghemawat and Jeff Dean at Google.

The dependency on !BR2_STATIC_LIBS is due to missing Libs.private in the
libmodconfig pkg-config file making builds that statically link against
libmodsecurity fail.
Lua is disabled due to using the host libraries.
Yajl is disabled as enabling it forces the tests to be built. These tests have a
hard dependency on libmodsecurity.a which is not built when --disable-static is
used in the configuration. There is no flag to disable these tests.

ptm2human is a decoder for trace data outputted by Program
Trace Macrocell (PTM) and Embedded Trace Macrocell (ETMv4).
It deconstructs ID packets and data packets from the
formatter of ARM Coresight ETB, and then translates the

Remove celt051 package as celt has been merged into the IETF Opus codec
and is now obsolete (see http://celt-codec.org/).
The only reverse dependency of celt051 is spice. Opus support on spice
has been added upstream 6 years ago with:

With the kernel support for WireGuard getting mainlined, the upstream repo
has been split in a wireguard-tools repo for the userspace tooling and
wireguard-linux-compat for the kernel side (for 3.10+ legacy kernels).
Add a wireguard-linux-compat for the compatibility out-of-tree kernel
module, and update the Config.in.legacy handling to use it.

So rename the package to wireguard-tools, use the new upstream and drop the

The hyperv integration services offer convenience features for guest
operating systems running on the microsoft hyperv virtualization
platform. They roughly are for HyperV what openvmtools are for VMWare.
The installed binary names are derived from what seems common in large
distros like RedHat:
linux kernel source name -> installed binary name
hv_vss_daemon -> hypervvssd
hv_kvp_daemon -> hypervkvpd
hv_fcopy_daemon -> hypervfcopyd
Each tool was introduced at different points in the kernel history, so
we need to check each of them.
We provide a single init script that is responsible for starting all
enabled programs. The global status will be the status of the last
program to fail to start, or empty (i.e. success) if they all started
successfuly.
However, we provide one systemd unit per program, because it is not easy
to use a single unit to start (and monitor) more than one executable.
Additionally, we do not provide a template that is filled at tinstall
time either, because it does not gain much (three simple units vs. a

Finally, the key-value daemon uses a few helper scripts to get/set the
network config. All are optional (their presence is checked before
running them), but one, hv_set_ifconfig. However, it is not strictly
speaking required either, so we just symlink it to /bin/true to avoid
any warning at runtime. Providing actual helpers is left to the end
user, to adapt to their own environment.

FluidR3 is the third release of Frank Wen's pro-quality GM/GS
soundfont. The soundfont has lots of excellent samples, including all
the GM instruments along side with the GS instruments that are
recycled and reprogrammed versions of the GM presets.
This package contains Fluid General Midi (GM) soundfont in soundfont
2.0 (.sf2) format.
This soundfont can be used with a software synthesizer, like
FluidSynth.

The lockfile package exports a LockFile class which provides a
simple API for locking files. Unlike the Windows
msvcrt.locking function, the fcntl.lockf and flock functions,
and the deprecated posixfile module, the API is identical
across both Unix (including Linux and Mac) and Windows
platforms.
The lock mechanism relies on the atomic nature of the link
(on Unix) and mkdir (on Windows) system calls. An
implementation based on SQLite is also provided, more as a
demonstration of the possibilities it provides than as
production-quality code.

FluidSynth is a real-time software synthesizer based on the SoundFont
2 specifications and has reached widespread distribution. FluidSynth
itself does not have a graphical user interface, but due to its
powerful API several applications utilize it and it has even found its

Smmap wraps an interface around mmap and tracks the mapped files as
well as the amount of clients who use it. If the system runs out of
resources, or if a memory limit is reached, it will automatically
unload unused maps to allow continued operation.

Since Java 11 (and possibly earlier), OpenJDK now has its own official
repository at hg.openjdk.java.net which is referenced in all OpenJDK
documentation. This patch brings buildroot into line with that
source, reducing the opportunity for code injection, and allowing
consistent patching both across projects and for patches specific to
buildroot environments.
diff -ru shows that the only changes between the downstream and upstream files at
this point in time is the addition of a .hg_archive.txt file, containing:

This does, however, change the hash for the tar.gz file (but not for the license).
With respect to the concern regarding upstream hash consistency, we have now been
using these archives for just over a year (since OpenJDK 11) and we haven't seen an
archive hash change in that time. This was a vast improvement on the previous
Mercurial forest. /archive is exactly as is sounds. It's an archive that doesn't
change, which is why it effectively negates the need for a "downstream" mirror.
Tests completed successfully (which is not surprising since there are no code changes here):

Spidermonkey is Mozilla's JavaScript engine written in C and C++. It is used in
various Mozilla products, including Firefox, and is available under the MPL2.
There are 10 patches currently required to properly cross-compile spidermonkey:
1) allow-newer-autoconf-versions
- Spidermonkey is hardcoded to use Autoconf 2.13, which is from 1999!
The reasoning behind using 2.13 is because newer versions of Autoconf do not
work correctly with the custom m4 macros in the source code.
However: Because we are building just the Spidermonkey engine instead of the
entire Firefox package, newer versions of Autoconf work without issue.

2) allow-building-in-tree
- By default, spidermonkey must be configured and built out-of-tree, otherwise

Typically, The Firefox source tarball is used to build spidermonkey; however,
this has two disadvantages:
- It's large. The Firefox source tarball is over 250M.
- It requires Autoconf 2.13
Instead, use a tarball with only the Spidermonkey source code in it with a
pre-setup configure file. This tarball reduces the size to 31M and prevents the
Autoconf 2.13 requirement.

The test starts a simple container with an iperf3 server.
The container is using the tini init system, with a shared rootfs.

A C++ library for interacting with sd-bus and a C++ bindings generator.
The host build produces a code generation tool, sdbus++ while the
target build gives libsdbusplus.
The code generator requires host-python-pyyaml, host-python-inflection,
and host-python-mako. Since it isn't built for the target, the target
build does not require them.
The host package includes a code and documentation generation program,
which is useful for including in a buildroot SDK, even if no target
package needs it, so make it a user-selectable host package.
host-autoconf-archive is added as a dependency since configure.ac
uses the AX_PKG_CHECK_MODULES macro.

Ogre needs host-swig with pcre support when python interpreter is
present on the target.
Otherwise the build stop with the following message:
"SWIG:7: Error: PCRE regex matching is not available in this SWIG build."
Ogre has been tested using the SampleBrowser binary but some demos
are not working due to missing optional dependencies (nvidia Cg plugin).

CAPS is a collection of audio plugins comprising virtual guitar
amplification and a small range of basic classic effects, signal
processors and generators of often elementary and occasionally
exotic nature.
The plugins aim to satisfy the highest demands in sound quality

The RISCV Proxy Kernel (AKA BBL) isn't being used by most distros so has
very limited testing. It has been replaced by OpenSBI and been

Daphne is a HTTP, HTTP2 and WebSocket protocol server for ASGI and ASGI-HTTP,
developed to power Django Channels.
It supports automatic negotiation of protocols; there's no need for URL
prefixing to determine WebSocket endpoints versus HTTP endpoints.
In addition, add the patch: remove pytest-runner-requirement.
Setup and runtime work without without pytest-runner as such, it is not actually
a requirement for building.

libhttpserver is a C++ library for building high performance RESTfuls
web servers. libhttpserver is built upon libmicrohttpd to provide a
simple API for developers to create HTTP services in C++.
The installed pkg-config file contains an error, thus we include the
patch 458d16b922304006fe418897044e14b0544a127a from the upstream repo
that is not yet released.

netifrc entirely replaces openrc's basic network management. As such, it
conflicts with the network services installed by openrc, so we remove
them from openrc when netifrc is enabled.
Currently, we only catter tfor the loopback interface, but we prepare
for also handling the DHCP interface, to come in a latter patch.

There are address casting issues with 32bit access on a 64bit bus (like
on the SoC FPGA ARM processors) with this tool. The Busybox version of

Since syslog-ng 3.11.1 eventlog has been bundled with the sources.
Remove the separate package.
We don't add Config.in.legacy handling because eventlog was only used
by syslog-ng, and was not really meant to be used by anyone else, so
there is no point in warning users who had this package enabled in
their configuration that it no longer exists, as it was only used by
syslog-ng, and syslog-ng now bundles eventlog.

Minimodem is a command-line program which decodes (or generates)
audio modem tones at any specified baud rate, using various
framing protocols. It acts a general-purpose software FSK modem,
and includes support for various standard FSK protocols such as
Bell103, Bell202, RTTY, TTY/TDD NOAA SAME, and Caller-ID.

Buildroot for an ARM32 bare-metal toolchain, but this wasn't done in
time for the 2019.08 release.
In order to not release 2019.08 with a broken defconfig, let's remove
it. It can be re-added later once the ARM32 bare-metal toolchain
problem has been resolved.

This commit adds a minimal defconfig to build a Buildroot system for
the STM32MP157 Discovery Kit, which is the low-cost evaluation
platform for the new STM32MP157 system-on-chip from ST. This
system-on-chip features a single or dual Cortex-A7, a single
Cortex-M4, and a wide variety of peripherals.
This commit includes a custom linux configuration file, because there
is no specific defconfig for this platform in the kernel, only
multi_v7_defconfig supports it, which is really a massive
defconfig. That's why a custom linux configuration file is added.
A small U-Boot config fragment allows to disable the watchdog, so that
userspace by default doesn't need to have a watchdog daemon running.
The vendor U-Boot and Linux trees are used for the moment, but the
platform support is being upstreamed, so switching to upstream
versions will be possible in the relatively near future.

This patch adds a new jack1 package alongside the existing jack2.
While jack1 and jack2 are two equivalent implementations of the same
protocol, they differ in a few details and both of them are being
actively used (jack2 is not considered to be a replacement of jack1).
It is not possible to enable both at the same time, so hide away jack1
when jack2 is enabled (to keep existing defconfig files working).

Piglit is an open-source test suite for OpenGL implementations.
It's an python3 script based around several tools like glxinfo,
wflinfo, dmesg.
Even though waffle support can be replaced by freeglut,
using pliglit with waffle is recommended since freeglut
will be replaced by waffle.
Add host-python-{mako,numpy,six} dependency since the build system
is checking with the host-python interpreter.
There is no comment about waffle dependency due to too complex
dependencies of waffle.

PowerPC kernel developers were after a userspace for testing 32-bit
powerpc kernels. This machine both suits that requirement and has
support in qemu. It's also a fairly common piece of 32-bit ppc hardware.

Adds the c-capnproto package. This creates a C plugin for the regular
capnproto capnpc compiler. It supports only serialization (no RPC).
Since it depends on capnproto, the package selects capnproto and has the
same requirements as capnproto.
The host version is always needed for the code generator, which is what
gets called by packages using it. The target version is also always
needed for the library. Therefore, no Config.in.host option is needed.
We need to use the git download method because the package has
submodules. The submodule is gtest, which is not really needed, but it's
complicated to remove the dependency.
The version is the latest upstream git hash. It is version 0.3 with just
two patches applied: one to the README file, and a fix submitted by us.

Add support for the SolidRun Armada 8040 based Clearfog GT-8K. This
board has the same processor as the Macchiatobin, so we can reuse the
Macchiatobin U-Boot and image definitions.
The kernel fragment enables drivers that are necessary to make
networking ports work (SFP, Ethernet port, and Ethernet switch).

Mender-grubenv contains the boot scripts and tools used by Mender to
integrate with the Grub2 bootloader.
The user must select the following Grub modules for this package:
loadenv, hashsum, echo, halt, gcry_sha256, and test.
Because this patch also includes a grub version of fw_printenv and fw_setenv,
package/mender/Config.in must be changed as well at the same time, because if
both uboot-tools and this package are selected, during startup, mender calls
the uboot-tools version of fw_printenv and fails to start.

This basic skeleton is similar to skeleton-init-sysv.
All links in /var are same as in skeleton-init-sysv to be compatible
with current default filesystem scheme.
Exceptions:
* /dev/shm and /dev/pts dirs were removed, since they are created by
openrc devfs service
* /etc/fstab does not need /dev/shm, /dev/pts and /sys entries
becuse they are mounted by devfs and sysfs services respectively

This adds openrc init system package. This performs default openrc
installation with openrc-init that acts as pid1.
MKPKGCONFIG=no:
openrc does not use pkg-config per se, if MKPKGCONFIG is enabled,
it will just install *.pc files on rootfs for other programs to
find librc and libeinfo. These libs expose C api to control openrc
(al rc-* functions use it). From the looks of it, these libs would
be usefull if user wanted to write his own programs to manage
services, and vast majority of people using openrc won't need it.
Also, that's the reason why there is not INSTALL_STAGING=yes.

Library for using PKCS#11, which includes an engine for OpenSSL that
lets it use PKCS#11 modules. Which is really what this package is
about, not that libp11 library itself, which has no users outside the
of OpenSSL engine.
If p11-kit is enabled, configure the engine to use that as the default
PKCS#11 module. That module is a sort of multiplexer that allows
multiple modules to be used at once, so it makes sense to use it even
if there are other modules present, e.g. softhsm2, nssckbi,
pkcs11-proxy, ykcs11, etc.
A host package is created too, with a host configuration option.
Since this a dynamically loaded module, there is no build time reason
to select it from a host package. It could be used by host openssl,
to allow host rauc to sign a software update bundle using a key from a
HSM with a PKCS#11 interface.

Cameras are complex devices that need heavy hardware image processing
operations. Control of the processing is based on advanced algorithms
that must run on a programmable processor. This has traditionally been
implemented in a dedicated MCU in the camera, but in embedded devices
algorithms have been moved to the main CPU to save cost. Blurring the
boundary between camera devices and Linux often left the user with no
other option than a vendor-specific closed-source solution.
To address this problem the Linux media community has very recently
started collaboration with the industry to develop a camera stack that
will be open-source-friendly while still protecting vendor core IP.
libcamera was born out of that collaboration and will offer modern
camera support to Linux-based systems, including traditional Linux
distributions, ChromeOS and Android.
The project has not made an official release as of yet, so we're
using the latest sha1 from master
We utilise C++ 11 but we mandate GCC5+ due to a bug [0] in earlier
versions which result in compile failures on our code base.

Add gettext-tiny package from the sabotage-linux project:
gettext-tiny provides lightweight replacements for tools typically used
from the GNU gettext suite, which is incredibly bloated and takes a lot
of time to build (in the order of an hour on slow devices). the most
notable component is msgfmt which is used to create binary translation
files in the .mo format out of textual input files in .po format. this
is the most important tool for building software from source, because it
is used from the build processes of many software packages.
Some files were taken from gettext-gnu (some po/* files and gettextize
script) to make possible perform gettextizing of packages.
The main purpose of gettext-tiny is to replace gettext for the "host" if
NLS support is not needed. There is no option to manually select
gettext-gnu or gettext-tiny, it is done automatically by virtual gettext
package. For the target gettext-tiny only installs gettext tool echo-wrapper
which might be called from shell scripts (i.e. ecryptfs-utils).

mender-artifact is a host tool to generate update images
in the Mender artifact file format.
This package uses the binary archive from github because it bundles the
external dependencies.
Example usage:
$ mender-artifact write rootfs-image \
--update rootfs.ext4 \
--output-path rootfs.mender \
--artifact-name "release-v1.0.0" \
--device-type "beaglebone"
Above will generate a Mender artifact called "rootfs.mender"
containing the "rootfs.ext4" image along with meta-data.

This test is a simple "Hello, World" integration test of the OpenJDK
package.
It compiles the Java app on the host, then runs it on an emulated
AARCH64 target and verifies "Hello, World" is printed.

OpenJDK is a free and open-source implementation of the Java Platform.
This package provides the option to build a client or a server JVM
interpreter.
The default option is the server option, as that is what the majority
of users use. This JVM interpreter loads more slowly, putting more
effort into JIT compilations to yield higher performance.
Unlike most autotools packages, OpenJDK is exceptionally different and
has many quirks, some of which are below:
- X11, alsa, and cups are required to build Java, even if it's a headless build.

- host-zip is needed for the zip executable.
- There is no autogen.sh file, instead, a user must call "./configure
autogen."
- OpenJDK ignores some variables unless passed via the environment.
These variables are: PATH, LD, CC, CXX, and CPP.
- OpenJDK defaults ld to the ld binary but passes -Xlinker and -z as
arguments during the linking process, which causes linking failures.
To fix this issue, ld is set to gcc.
- Make -jn is unsupported. Instead, one must use the "--with-jobs="
configure option, and use $(MAKE1).

This defconfig was added in October 2016 and was never updated since
then. It currently fails to build because U-Boot is too old and
doesn't build with host-openssl in version 1.1.x.
On February 13, 2019, the original submitter was notified, but didn't
reply, so let's remove the defconfig for this platform.

OP-TEE client API library and supplicant daemon from the
OP-TEE project are packaged in package/optee-client. An init script
launches the tee-supplicant deamon. Package is added to the
Security menu of BR configuration.

OP-TEE OS is maintained by the OP-TEE project. It provides an
open source solution for development and integration of secure
services for Armv7-A and Armv8-A CPU based platforms supporting
the TrustZone technology. This technology enables CPUs to
concurrently host a secure world as the OP-TEE OS and a non-secure
world as a Linux based OS.
The OP-TEE project maintains other packages to leverage OP-TEE on
Linux kernel based OSes. An OP-TEE interface driver is available
in the Linux kernel since 4.12 upon CONFIG_OPTEE.

Paradoxically, building OpenJDK requires a pre-existing JDK. This
pre-existing JDK is called the "boot JDK."
The boot JDK for building JDK major version N should be a JDK of major
version N-1, so for building JDK11, JDK10 would be needed. This
requirement is an issue when building on most distributions, as the
host JDK tends to be JDK8.
The AdoptOpenJDK project provides binaries that can act as the boot
JDK to build the target JDK, which is what this package provides.
Currently, only a x86_64 host is supported, for two reasons:
1) A 32bit x86 binary distribution is not available from AdoptOpenJDK
2) We didn't had access to a host machine using an architecture other
than x86-64
The provided unpack200 has an invalid RPATH and relies on libzlib.
When host-libzlib runs the install step, the following error is
generated:
*** ERROR: package host-libzlib installs executables without proper RPATH:
*** $(HOST_DIR)/bin/unpack200
Because unpack200 is a deprecated tool, removing it after installation
is safe and fixes the issue.

GstShark leverages GStreamers newest instrumentation subsystem by
installing a set of custom hooks to the trace points. A variety of
data analytics are extracted and presented to the user in a graphical,
friendly way.

Luacrypto fails to build with openssl 1.1.x. The package has not seen any
functional changes since it was added in 2013 and has no reverse
dependencies.
The upstream repository (https://github.com/starius/luacrypto) explicitly
states:
this project is deprecated, use luaossl
So remove the package.

This commit adds a package for 'shim', an EFI bootloader for secure
boot chain loading.
While gnu-efi supports 32bit ARM, this is currently broken in shim.
Patches to fix this have been submitted upstream but are not included
here for now.

libpagekite is a C implementation of the backend of the PageKite relay
protocol. It allows external access to embedded devices without public
IP address.
There is a bundled version of libev but we prefer to use the global
libev library.
Although the configure script has a --without-openssl option, it
doesn't actually build without openssl.
Patch 0001-configure.ac-fix-handling-of-with.patch is needed because
we want to explicitly pass --with and --without options, even if they
are the default. The way the AC_ARG_WITH macros were used, --with and
--without both had the effect of enabling the option.
Patch 0002-configure.ac-use-AS_HELP_STRING-for-with-openssl.patch is
not needed for Buildroot, but it is part of the same upstream PR and
would generate a conflict for the next patch.
Patch 0003-configure.ac-use-pkg-config-for-openssl.patch is needed to
pass -lz (needed by openssl) in static compilation.

Separated headers are required to break circular dependencies

nss-myhostname is helpful to resolve local hostname without domain.
For instance, if we set hostname to myboard and ping myboard
without .local suffix, it fails if /etc/hosts stays unchanged.
nss-myhostname modifies /etc/nsswitch.conf file.
It set myhostname resolution just after files in hosts line,
for example:
hosts: files myhostname mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns
This choice comes from Debian commit [1] and Yocto recipe [2].
Also, nss-myhostname author suggests myhostname should be used as
a backup and appended at the end of hosts line. Both choices are valid.
Discussion on Debian bug tracker [3] gives some details on issue
that may occurs using nss-myhostname (see fqdn).
Note nss-myhostname is already included in systemd, so ensure is conflicts
with it.

This patch provides libclc, an open source implementation of the
library requirements of the OpenCL C programming language, as
specified by the OpenCL 1.1 Specification. It is intended to be used
with Clover (Mesa3D's OpenCL implementation for AMD GPUs.
It needs to be compiled with host-clang, as it generates LLVM IR bitcode
files containing device builtin functions for each target.
Currently, libclc supports AMDGCN, R600 and NVPTX targets.
As OpenCL kernels can be built dynamically on the target using libclang and
libLLVM, it is necessary to have clc headers installed on the target. Buildroot
removes /usr/include in its target-finalize step, so clc headers are installed to
/usr/share/clc.

Switch default toolchain as this toolchain supersed the Linaro AArch64-BE toolchain.
Only x86_64 host are supported, so keep Linaro toolchain for x86 host.

Adds the libcorrect package. Libcorrect by default builds a shared
library, so require shared libraries. We add a patch to make sure
-Wpedantic is only used if supported by the C compiler (gcc < 4.8
didn't support it).

waffle has four "backends", each having their own dependencies.
At least one "backend" must be enabled, otherwise Waffle will refuse to
build. The "backends" are:
- glx, which needs full OpenGL + x11-xcb
- wayland, which needs wayland-client, wayland-egl and EGL
- x11-egl, which needs x11-xcb and EGL
- gbm, which needs gbm, libudev and EGL
Backport an upstream patch fixing a build issue with musl toolchains.
Add a new patch fixing build with Wayand without X11.

This enables a riscv64 system to be built with a Buildroot generated
toolchain (gcc >= 7.x, binutils >= 2.30, glibc only).
This configuration has been used to successfully build a qemu-bootable
riscv-linux-4.15 kernel (https://github.com/riscv/riscv-linux.git).

This patch added 'openresolv' package support. This tool
provides a dns management framework to track currently
available nameservers.
A key feature of this tool vs resolvconf is the ability to
manage multiple name server input configuration files and
generate the /etc/resolv.conf. This is handy when you have
multiple dynamic communication paths providing nameserver
information.

Tini is a minimal init process to act as PID 1 for containers.
Note: it is not necessary to compile Tini statically for many
non-docker container environments, and Docker now statically links to
Tini internally (as of 1.13).
