0de91e5725 configs/solidrun_clearfog_gt_8k: new defconfig
Add support for the SolidRun Armada 8040 based Clearfog GT-8K. This
board has the same processor as the Macchiatobin, so we can reuse the
Macchiatobin U-Boot and image definitions.

The kernel fragment enables drivers that are necessary to make
networking ports work (SFP, Ethernet port, and Ethernet switch).

9c52d4bee6 mender-grubenv: new package
Mender-grubenv contains the boot scripts and tools used by Mender to
integrate with the Grub2 bootloader.

The user must select the following Grub modules for this package:
loadenv, hashsum, echo, halt, gcry_sha256, and test.

Because this patch also includes a grub version of fw_printenv and fw_setenv,
package/mender/Config.in must be changed as well at the same time, because if
both uboot-tools and this package are selected, during startup, mender calls
the uboot-tools version of fw_printenv and fails to start.

e6cf089741 package/openrc: new package
This adds openrc init system package. This performs default openrc
installation with openrc-init that acts as pid1.

MKPKGCONFIG=no:
openrc does not use pkg-config per se, if MKPKGCONFIG is enabled,
it will just install *.pc files on rootfs for other programs to
find librc and libeinfo. These libs expose C api to control openrc
(al rc-* functions use it). From the looks of it, these libs would
be usefull if user wanted to write his own programs to manage
services, and vast majority of people using openrc won't need it.
Also, that's the reason why there is not INSTALL_STAGING=yes.

c4fc706f55 package/libp11: new package
Library for using PKCS#11, which includes an engine for OpenSSL that
lets it use PKCS#11 modules. Which is really what this package is
about, not that libp11 library itself, which has no users outside the
of OpenSSL engine.

If p11-kit is enabled, configure the engine to use that as the default
PKCS#11 module. That module is a sort of multiplexer that allows
multiple modules to be used at once, so it makes sense to use it even
if there are other modules present, e.g. softhsm2, nssckbi,
pkcs11-proxy, ykcs11, etc.

A host package is created too, with a host configuration option.
Since this a dynamically loaded module, there is no build time reason
to select it from a host package. It could be used by host openssl,
to allow host rauc to sign a software update bundle using a key from a
HSM with a PKCS#11 interface.

25be066a65 package/libcamera: new package
http://libcamera.org/

Cameras are complex devices that need heavy hardware image processing
operations. Control of the processing is based on advanced algorithms
that must run on a programmable processor. This has traditionally been
implemented in a dedicated MCU in the camera, but in embedded devices
algorithms have been moved to the main CPU to save cost. Blurring the
boundary between camera devices and Linux often left the user with no
other option than a vendor-specific closed-source solution.

To address this problem the Linux media community has very recently
started collaboration with the industry to develop a camera stack that
will be open-source-friendly while still protecting vendor core IP.
libcamera was born out of that collaboration and will offer modern
camera support to Linux-based systems, including traditional Linux
distributions, ChromeOS and Android.

The project has not made an official release as of yet, so we're
using the latest sha1 from master

We utilise C++ 11 but we mandate GCC5+ due to a bug [0] in earlier
versions which result in compile failures on our code base.

5367a1b253 package/gettext-tiny: new package
Add gettext-tiny package from the sabotage-linux project:

gettext-tiny provides lightweight replacements for tools typically used
from the GNU gettext suite, which is incredibly bloated and takes a lot
of time to build (in the order of an hour on slow devices). the most
notable component is msgfmt which is used to create binary translation
files in the .mo format out of textual input files in .po format. this
is the most important tool for building software from source, because it
is used from the build processes of many software packages.

Some files were taken from gettext-gnu (some po/* files and gettextize
script) to make possible perform gettextizing of packages.

The main purpose of gettext-tiny is to replace gettext for the "host" if
NLS support is not needed. There is no option to manually select
gettext-gnu or gettext-tiny, it is done automatically by virtual gettext
package. For the target gettext-tiny only installs gettext tool echo-wrapper
which might be called from shell scripts (i.e. ecryptfs-utils).

33f1bd1f02 package/mender-artifact: new package
mender-artifact is a host tool to generate update images
in the Mender artifact file format.
This package uses the binary archive from github because it bundles the
external dependencies.

Example usage:

    $ mender-artifact write rootfs-image \
         --update rootfs.ext4 \
         --output-path rootfs.mender \
         --artifact-name "release-v1.0.0" \
         --device-type "beaglebone"

Above will generate a Mender artifact called "rootfs.mender"
containing the "rootfs.ext4" image along with meta-data.

One can read-out the meta-data with the following command:

    $ mender-artifact read rootfs.mender
      Mender artifact:
      Name: release-v1.0.0
      Format: mender
      Version: 2

5366b8f734 package/openjdk: new package
OpenJDK is a free and open-source implementation of the Java Platform.
This package provides the option to build a client or a server JVM
interpreter.

The default option is the server option, as that is what the majority
of users use. This JVM interpreter loads more slowly, putting more
effort into JIT compilations to yield higher performance.

Unlike most autotools packages, OpenJDK is exceptionally different and
has many quirks, some of which are below:

- X11, alsa, and cups are required to build Java, even if it's a headless build.
  See
  http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk10/jdk10/raw-file/tip/common/doc/building.html#external-library-requirements
  for more information.

- host-zip is needed for the zip executable.

- There is no autogen.sh file, instead, a user must call "./configure
  autogen."

- OpenJDK ignores some variables unless passed via the environment.
These variables are: PATH, LD, CC, CXX, and CPP.

- OpenJDK defaults ld to the ld binary but passes -Xlinker and -z as
arguments during the linking process, which causes linking failures.
To fix this issue, ld is set to gcc.

- Make -jn is unsupported. Instead, one must use the "--with-jobs="
  configure option, and use $(MAKE1).

Signed-off-by: Adam Duskett <Aduskett@gmail.com>
[Thomas:
 - drop explanations about CC, LD, CXX, etc. be set to their "actual
binaries" instead of ccache: TARGET_CC/TARGET_LD/TARGET_CXX point
to the compiler wrapper, so the usage of ccache is hidden
 - make sure at least one of the variants is enabled in Config.in
 - drop the submenu for variant selection
 - use system zlib instead of the bundled one. This works fine when
   BUILD_SYSROOT_CFLAGS and BUILD_SYSROOT_LDFLAGS are passed

342e950c24 package/openjdk-bin: new package
Paradoxically, building OpenJDK requires a pre-existing JDK. This
pre-existing JDK is called the "boot JDK."

The boot JDK for building JDK major version N should be a JDK of major
version N-1, so for building JDK11, JDK10 would be needed. This
requirement is an issue when building on most distributions, as the
host JDK tends to be JDK8.

The AdoptOpenJDK project provides binaries that can act as the boot
JDK to build the target JDK, which is what this package provides.

Currently, only a x86_64 host is supported, for two reasons:

1) A 32bit x86 binary distribution is not available from AdoptOpenJDK

2) We didn't had access to a host machine using an architecture other
   than x86-64

The provided unpack200 has an invalid RPATH and relies on libzlib.
When host-libzlib runs the install step, the following error is
generated:

*** ERROR: package host-libzlib installs executables without proper RPATH:
*** $(HOST_DIR)/bin/unpack200

Because unpack200 is a deprecated tool, removing it after installation
is safe and fixes the issue.

http://autobuild.buildroot.net/results/dd4/dd412fae45a84e44e7e6a49f8cdb124d0851c1df/

The mongodb version used (3.3.4) is no longer supported by upstream and
fails to build with openssl 1.1.1x. On top of that it uses internal copies
of boost, pcre and zlib instead of the system ones.

Bumping the version to 3.4.19 (which is still supported until September
2019) has been tried, but it:

- No longer builds for 32bit ARM

- Doesn't build without extra patches, E.G.:
  https://git.openembedded.org/meta-openembedded/tree/meta-oe/recipes-support/mongodb/mongodb/0002-d_state.cpp-Add-missing-dependenncy-on-local_shardin.patch?h=rocko

- Doesn't build with the system version of boost (1.69.0)

- Also fails to build with openssl-1.1.1x

So it looks like mongodb needs to be bumped to the 3.6.x series (which
changes the license to the SSPL) - Or simply dropped.

Fixes:

functional changes since it was added in 2013 and has no reverse
dependencies.

5c952178b7 package/libpagekite: new package
libpagekite is a C implementation of the backend of the PageKite relay
protocol. It allows external access to embedded devices without public
IP address.

There is a bundled version of libev but we prefer to use the global
libev library.

Although the configure script has a --without-openssl option, it
doesn't actually build without openssl.

Patch 0001-configure.ac-fix-handling-of-with.patch is needed because
we want to explicitly pass --with and --without options, even if they
are the default. The way the AC_ARG_WITH macros were used, --with and
--without both had the effect of enabling the option.

Patch 0002-configure.ac-use-AS_HELP_STRING-for-with-openssl.patch is
not needed for Buildroot, but it is part of the same upstream PR and
would generate a conflict for the next patch.

Patch 0003-configure.ac-use-pkg-config-for-openssl.patch is needed to
pass -lz (needed by openssl) in static compilation.

d25f4ce2ee package/nss-myhostname: Add package
nss-myhostname is helpful to resolve local hostname without domain.
For instance, if we set hostname to myboard and ping myboard
without .local suffix, it fails if /etc/hosts stays unchanged.

nss-myhostname modifies /etc/nsswitch.conf file.
It set myhostname resolution just after files in hosts line,
for example:
hosts: files myhostname mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns

This choice comes from Debian commit [1] and Yocto recipe [2].
Also, nss-myhostname author suggests myhostname should be used as
a backup and appended at the end of hosts line. Both choices are valid.

Discussion on Debian bug tracker [3] gives some details on issue
that may occurs using nss-myhostname (see fqdn).

Note nss-myhostname is already included in systemd, so ensure is conflicts
with it.

f265e5d905 package/libclc: new package
This patch provides libclc, an open source implementation of the
library requirements of the OpenCL C programming language, as
specified by the OpenCL 1.1 Specification. It is intended to be used
with Clover (Mesa3D's OpenCL implementation for AMD GPUs.

It needs to be compiled with host-clang, as it generates LLVM IR bitcode
files containing device builtin functions for each target.

Currently, libclc supports AMDGCN, R600 and NVPTX targets.

As OpenCL kernels can be built dynamically on the target using libclang and
libLLVM, it is necessary to have clc headers installed on the target. Buildroot
removes /usr/include in its target-finalize step, so clc headers are installed to
/usr/share/clc.

3d2445ba1c package/kf5: base infrastructure
KDE Frameworks 5 is a set of libraries built on the Qt framework
providing a lot of powerfull classes and solutions for developers
building Qt applications.

Unlike the previous KDE libraries, they are split in tiny packages,
reducing dependencies as much as possible, making them usable even for
embedded projects.

This first commit introduce the kf5 packages folder.

Arnout Vandecappelle (Essensium/Mind)
2257c18c25 package/dehydrated: new package
dehydrated is an ACME client written in bash. It should be able to run
under zsh as well, but this hasn't been tested so it isn't enabled for
now.

Normally, we would want an init script to start dehydrated, and an
example configuration file. However, it is very difficult to do this
in a generic way in Buildroot:
- we normally don't have cron running;
- we have no standard location for webroot;
- we have no standard location for certificates;
- we have no standard way to restart/reload the webserver.
So instead, provide brief documentation of how to use dehydrated in the
help text.

86defeeab6 package/clang: new package
This patch provides Clang tools and libraries for the host and
libclang for the target.

host-clang is needed to build libclc, which is provided in a follow-up
patch.

We need libclang for the target because it is used by most of OpenCL
implementations.

A later patch in this series will enable Clover, the OpenCL
implementation part of Mesa3D, which requires libclang.

clang-tblgen must be copied to HOST_DIR as it is not installed by
default but is needed for cross-compilation:

Valentin Korenblit
a098636a6b package/llvm: new package
This patch installs LLVM tools and libraries for the host and
libLLVM.so for the target.

In order to cross-compile LLVM for the target, LLVM
must be installed on the host, or at least llvm-tblgen.
This is necessary as the path to host's llvm-tblgen must
be specified when cross-compiling using the LLVM_TABLEGEN option.
Also, a version of llvm-config that can run on the host will
be required by packages that link with LLVM libraries, so we
need to generate it and install it in STAGING_DIR/usr/bin.

It is important to remark why we need llvm-config(host variant)
installed in STAGING dir. This tool is necessary to build
applications that use LLVM, as it prints the compiler flags,
linker flags and object libraries needed to link against LLVM libs.

More info: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=219369

The original idea was to compile only llvm-tblgen and llvm-config
for the host, as they are the only necessary components. However,
llvm-config tool does not work as expected if it is not linked with
libLLVM.so, so we must also enable LLVM_LINK_LLVM_DYLIB, what builds
LLVM as a single shared library and links LLVM tools with it.

More info: https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=224847
in comment #11.

If we don't build full LLVM for the host, it would be necessary to
patch configure.ac from mesa3d if we want dynamic linking, because it
uses llvm-config (host variant installed in STAGING_DIR) to get the
necessary LLVM libraries to link with, which has the following problems:

 - llvm-config --shared mode outputs static (even if LLVM is built as
one shared library) which leads to link issues with libgallium.

 - llvm-config --libs outputs all LLVM tiny libs: -lLLVMLTO,
-lLLVMPasses,etc instead of the single shared library containing
    all LLVM components (-lLLVM-5.0)

Mesa tries to execute: llvm-config --link-shared --libs, but this outputs
llvm-config: error: libLLVM-5.0.so is missing.

Given that these problems may arise with other packages that use LLVM,
it is preferable to do a full build for the host. Also, having a
complete installation of LLVM on the host will also facilitate the
integration of Clang front-end, which is going to be added in a future
patch.

As option LLVM_BUILD_LLVM_DYLIB is enabled for the llvm target variant,
a single shared library containing all LLVM components is built.
This option is not compatible with BUILD_SHARED_LIBS, which generates
one .so per library and is only recommended for use by LLVM developers.

Tools and utils are not built for the target. The patch aims to provide
LLVM support for other packages.

The main options needed to cross-compile LLVM are the following ones:

LLVM_TABLEGEN
CMAKE_CROSSCOMPILING
LLVM_DEFAULT_TARGET_TRIPLE
LLVM_HOST_TRIPLE
LLVM_TARGET_ARCH
LLVM_TARGETS_TO_BUILD

ee156ad480 New board: SolidRun ClearFog Base
My goal was to rely on upstreamed features as much as possible, which
means that some bits are only half-baked for now:

- Due to the DTS restructuring in upstream kernel, we require 4.11+. The
latest LTS or CIP kernels do not know about the -Base model.

- Linux has no generic support for SFP cages (yet). It seems that this
has hit the net-next tree in August 2017, but there's been no release
(it's probably targettting 4.14). Also, the merge only included the
required infrastructure; the mvneta driver conversion is not included.
Patches which finalize this exist in Russel King's tree and also in
random vendor trees.

- There's no access to the SPI flash in these versions of
uboot/linux/dts.

7f430a4e87 board: add support for ARC HS Development Kit (HSDK)
Synopsys DesignWare HSDK (which stands for ARC HS
Development Kit) is the latest and greatest development
platform that sports quad-core ARC HS38 in real silicon.

Most noticeable features of the board are:
 * Quad-core ARC HS38 CPU running at 1GHz
 * 4Gb of DDR
 * Built-in Vivante GPU (well supported via open source
   Etnaviv drivers)
 * Built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module (RedPine RS-9113)

And as usual we have:
 * [micro] SD-card slot
 * 2 USB 2.0 ports
 * 1Gbit Ethernet port
 * Built-in Digilent JTAG probe
 * Serial port accessible via micro-USB port

Writing sdcard.img on SDcard creates two partitions:
 * FAT32 with uImage and uboot.env
 * EXT4 with root filesystem

We modify kernel config because in default hsdk kernel config
CONFIG_INITRAMFS_SOURCE parameter is set and when we build
rootfs separately (BR2_TARGET_ROOTFS_INITRAMFS is not set)
error appears. Also we set up CONFIG_ARC_UBOOT_SUPPORT which
enables usage of uboot variables in the boot process.

ad6ed6643a configs/freescale_t1040d4rdb_defconfig: new board
The T1 QoriQ from NXP has had a few varients of RDB dev boards.
This target is against the latest D4RDB version. Any of the
other versions before D4RDB (plain RDB), may require backing off
the uboot version to SDK 1.6 and/or adjusting the kernel dtb used.

This board configuration provides an upstream kernel build which
has been verified to boot on target.

The target assumes the user still uses the NXP suggested prebuilts
in the SDK2.0 (last release for PowerPC). If a uboot rebuild is
required, the source for SDK2.0 can be found in the following repo.

990a7d14cf cargo: new package
This new package provides Cargo, the Rust official package manager.
Cargo is written in Rust and uses Cargo as its build system. It also
depends on other Rust packages.

Normally, a previously installed version of Cargo would be used to:

 1. Fetch the dependencies.
 2. Build the new version of Cargo, using the available Rust compiler.

But the fetching step prevents offline builds. So instead two features
of Cargo are leveraged: vendoring [1] and local registry.

First, a tarball of the build dependencies generated using `cargo
vendor` is fetched along with Cargo source code.

Then, the build process is as follows:

 1. The tarball of the build dependencies is uncompressed in a local
    registry.
 2. A snapshot of Cargo, provided by cargo-bin, builds the final
    version of Cargo.
 3. A configuration file telling Cargo how to cross-compile programs for
the target is generated and installed.

Currently, only the host variant is provided.

b50522d838 rust: new package
This new package provides rustc, the compiler for the Rust programming
language, built from source.

Currently, only the host variant is built.

The Rust compiler uses LLVM as its backend: a copy of LLVM source code
is provided and CMake is used to build it. It is possible to use a
pre-built external copy. When LLVM/clang will be available in Buildroot,
it would be possible to benefit from this feature and thus decrease
build time.

LLVM is configured to generate code for x86, ARM, PowerPC and MIPS
architectures.

The Rust compiler uses Cargo as its build system and is written in Rust.
Therefore this package depends on cargo-bin and rust-bin.

The internal build process is as follows:

 1. stage0 compiler, provided by rust-bin, is used to build stage1
    compiler.
 2. stage1 compiler builds the final Rust compiler (stage2 compiler)
and the standard library for the host architecture.
 3. the standard library for the target architecture is built.

The target architecture to support is given by the GNU/LLVM target
triple. Rust supports some predefined targets [1]. As the build system
expects the triple to be in the form of <arch>-unknown-<system> and
Buildroot toolchain wrapper uses <arch>-buildroot-<system>, the package
Makefile uses $(RUST_TARGET_NAME) defined in the rustc package and uses
it instead of $(GNU_TARGET_NAME).

When compiling Rust code with this compiler, the generated program only
depends on the target C library, as it is statically linked to the Rust
standard library and any other code from Rust packages (a.k.a.
"crates").

If the jemalloc package is selected, support for this memory allocator
will be enabled in the target standard library.

The menuconfig entry for rustc is also updated to expose this provider.

194bcaeae3 rust-bin: new package
This package provides a pre-built version of rustc, the compiler for the
Rust programming language, fetched from the upstream project.

A pre-built version of the standard library for the host as well as one
for the chosen target are also fetched and installed.

Only the host variant is provided to allow the user to cross-compile
Rust programs and run them on the target.

This package could also be used to provide a bootstrap compiler when building
Rust from source. So, in order to add it as a build dependency, the compiler and
standard libraries are only installed in $(HOST_DIR) if the package is
explicitly selected.

The menuconfig entry for rustc is also updated to expose this provider.
