- use $(HOSTCC) instead of hardcoding "gcc", and use $(HOST_CFLAGS) and
$(HOST_LDFLAGS) instead of hardcoding -L$(HOST_DIR)/usr/lib
-I$(HOST_DIR)/usr/include
