Triggering a single defconfig or runtime test job can be handy:
- when adding or changing a defconfig;
- when adding or changing a runtime test case;
- when fixing some bug on a use case tested by a runtime test case.
Currently there are 3 subsets of jobs that can easily be triggered by
pushing a temporary branch with specific suffix:
- to trigger only the check-* jobs:
$ git push gitlab HEAD:<name> # currently 4 jobs
- to trigger all defconfigs and all check-* jobs:
$ git push gitlab HEAD:<name>-defconfigs # currently 197 jobs
- to trigger all runtime tests and all check-* jobs:
$ git push gitlab HEAD:<name>-runtime-tests # currently 118 jobs
When the user wants to trigger a single defconfig or runtime test job,
hand-editing the .gitlab-ci.yml and creating a temporary commit are
currently needed.
Add 2 more subsets that can be triggered based on the name of the
branch pushed.
- to trigger one defconfig job:
$ git push gitlab HEAD:<name>-<defconfig name> # currently 1 jobs
- to trigger one runtime job:
$ git push gitlab HEAD:<name>-<test case name> # currently 1 jobs
The check-* jobs are fast, so there is no need to add a per job trigger
for them. Also, they are anyway triggered with every push already.
While adding those new triggers, use the full name of the job as suffix.
This leads to large branch names:
$ git push gitlab HEAD:test1-tests.toolchain.test_external.TestExternalToolchainBuildrootuClibc
$ git push gitlab HEAD:test2-olimex_a20_olinuxino_lime_legacy_defconfig
But those branches are temporary, and this way the user doesn't need to
think much, just copy and paste the job name as suffix.
The hidden keys that now hold the commonalities between jobs does not
hold only a script anymore, so rename then from *_script to *_base.

The board is setup to track upstream Linux as the official
vendor support was complete(depricated) at 4.1 via NXP SDKs.
The target does not build uboot and assumes the user still uses the NXP
suggested prebuilts in the SDK2.0 (last release for PowerPC). If a
uboot is required, the source for SDK2.0 can be found in the following
repo.

In order to make the file easier to maintain, reorder the keys in a more
logical way:
Keep the docker image at the top.
Then all check-* jobs in the case-insensitive alphabetical order they
appear on Gitlab-CI pipeline results.
Then all keys related to defconfigs.
Finally all keys related to runtime tests.

This test allow to check if the xserver with GLX is working properly.
This is a basic test but it allow to trigger the current bug reported
by [1].
To test if the glxinfo test is working, you can change "-display :0" by
"-display :1" in the glxinfo command line.

We recommend wrapping at 80 columns but we accept 132 columns when it
makes more readable.
When running flake8 locally, use maximum line length 80.
But when running in GitLab CI, keep the check-flake8 job failing only
for lines longer than 132.

This test is a simple "Hello, World" integration test of the OpenJDK
package.
It compiles the Java app on the host, then runs it on an emulated
AARCH64 target and verifies "Hello, World" is printed.

This defconfig was added in October 2016 and was never updated since
then. It currently fails to build because U-Boot is too old and
doesn't build with host-openssl in version 1.1.x.
On February 13, 2019, the original submitter was notified, but didn't
reply, so let's remove the defconfig for this platform.

Replace all YAML anchors with the new "extends" keyword because it is
more readable and more flexible (it works across configuration files
combined with the new "include" keyword).
Readability is more meaningful in .gitlab-ci.yml.in.
In the part of .gitlab-ci.yml that is auto-generated by 'make
.gitlab-ci.yml' keep the keyword in the same line of the job name.
So instead of this:

extends: .defconfig

Build for x86-64 as public containers in general are only available for
x86-64. Docker needs a number of kernel options enabled, so use a custom
kernel config based on the qemu one.
Docker needs entropy at startup, so enable the virtio-rng-pci device to
expose entropy to the guest. The default RAM amount (128M) is not enough to
run docker / docker-compose, so bump to 512MB.

All upcoming tests for git refs will rely on the return code of make to
determine whether a git ref can be downloaded or not and also to
determine whether the downloaded content is correct (all of this taking
advantage of the check-hash mechanism already in place for git
packages).
So to avoid false results i.e. in the case the check-hash mechanism
become broken in the master branch, add some sanity checks before the
actual test of download git refs.
Add the minimum test case for git refs containing only sanity checks.
Reuse the commit in the static repo.
Add a br2-external with two packages to check that:
- trying to download an invalid sha1 generates an error;
- downloading a valid sha1 that contains unexpected content generates
an error.
In order to ease the maintenance and review, each upcoming patch adding
checks to this test case will add at same time the commits to the static
repo, the equivalent packages to the br2-external and code to the test
case.

Add one test case to ensure the hash is checked for git packages:
- correct hash;
- wrong hash;
- no hash file.
Add required infra:
- a GitRemote class, that can start a git server in the host machine to
emulate a remote git server under the control of the test;
- a new base class, called GitTestBase, that inherits from BRTest and
must be subclassed by all git test cases.
Its setUp() method takes care of configuring the build with a
br2-external, avoiding to hit http://sources.buildroot.net by using
an empty BR2_BACKUP_SITE. It also avoids downloading not
pre-installed dependencies (i.e. lzip) every time by calling 'make
dependencies' using the common dl directory, and it instantiates the
GitRemote object.
Besides the Python scripts, add some fixtures used during the tests:
- a br2-external (git-hash) with one package for each part of the test
case;
- a static git bare repo (repo.git) to be served using GitRemote class.
Neither the br2-external nor the check hash functionalities are the
subject of these tests per se, so for simplicity limit the check to the
error codes and don't look for the messages in the log.

When the runtime tests were first introduced, they still ran pretty
quickly. Nowadays, however, there are a lot of runtime tests, and some
of them take a really long time. So running them on every push is
really too much.
Just like we do for the defconfigs, run them on explicit trigger only.
The explicit trigger is now done every week, but it can be increased
to e.g. twice or three times per week.

The snippet of code that runs a check-package on all
.mk/.hash/Config.in files is currently only available within
.gitlab-ci.yml, and isn't immediately and easily usable by Buildroot
users. In order to simplify this, this commit introduces a top-level
"check-package" make target that implements the same logic. The
.gitlab-ci.yml file is changed to use "make check-package".
Since this target is oriented towards Buildroot developers, we
intentionally do not clutter the already noisy "make help" text with
this additional make target.

Check:
- the daemon is started;
- a message is collected;
- the daemon does not issue a warning message on startup.
When the .conf file version does not match the package version a warning
message shows up on serial on every boot. This message is generated by
syslog-ng before it is running, so it is not logged to
/var/log/messages. So in order to test the message is generated, restart
the server. It makes the message appears on /var/log/messages (since the

My goal was to rely on upstreamed features as much as possible, which
means that some bits are only half-baked for now:
- Due to the DTS restructuring in upstream kernel, we require 4.11+. The
latest LTS or CIP kernels do not know about the -Base model.
- Linux has no generic support for SFP cages (yet). It seems that this
has hit the net-next tree in August 2017, but there's been no release
(it's probably targettting 4.14). Also, the merge only included the
required infrastructure; the mvneta driver conversion is not included.
Patches which finalize this exist in Russel King's tree and also in
random vendor trees.
- There's no access to the SPI flash in these versions of
uboot/linux/dts.

Add a test to check Python code style in the whole buildroot tree.
Search files by type in order to help flake8 to find the Python scripts
without .py extension. But don't rely only in the output of 'file' as it
uses heuristics and sometimes it is wrong (specially identifying Python
files as C++ source for the 'file' version currently in the Docker
image).
Include in the output:
- the list of Python files processed;
- statistics for each kind of warning;
- the total number of warnings;
- the number of Python files processed.

Synopsys DesignWare HSDK (which stands for ARC HS
Development Kit) is the latest and greatest development
platform that sports quad-core ARC HS38 in real silicon.
Most noticeable features of the board are:
* Quad-core ARC HS38 CPU running at 1GHz
* 4Gb of DDR
* Built-in Vivante GPU (well supported via open source
Etnaviv drivers)
* Built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module (RedPine RS-9113)
And as usual we have:
* [micro] SD-card slot
* 2 USB 2.0 ports
* 1Gbit Ethernet port
* Built-in Digilent JTAG probe
* Serial port accessible via micro-USB port
Writing sdcard.img on SDcard creates two partitions:
* FAT32 with uImage and uboot.env
* EXT4 with root filesystem
We modify kernel config because in default hsdk kernel config
CONFIG_INITRAMFS_SOURCE parameter is set and when we build
rootfs separately (BR2_TARGET_ROOTFS_INITRAMFS is not set)
error appears. Also we set up CONFIG_ARC_UBOOT_SUPPORT which
enables usage of uboot variables in the boot process.

Up to now, Raspberry Pi Zero W (rpi0w) could be built with the normal
raspberrypi0_defconfig. However, then you don't have support for the
Bluetooth out-of-the-box, which makes using a W a bit pointless.
Therefore, create a separate defconfig for the W. It is a copy of
raspberrypi0_defconfig with the following changes:
- Add DT overlays (from rpi-firmware) to support Bluetooth.
- Pass --add-pi3-miniuart-bt-overlay to post-image.sh.
Since there is now a separate raspberrypi0w_defconfig, the W support
can be removed from raspberrypi0_defconfig.

The T1 QoriQ from NXP has had a few varients of RDB dev boards.
This target is against the latest D4RDB version. Any of the
other versions before D4RDB (plain RDB), may require backing off
the uboot version to SDK 1.6 and/or adjusting the kernel dtb used.
This board configuration provides an upstream kernel build which
has been verified to boot on target.
The target assumes the user still uses the NXP suggested prebuilts
in the SDK2.0 (last release for PowerPC). If a uboot rebuild is
required, the source for SDK2.0 can be found in the following repo.

Replacing the p1010rdb, this board is based on the tower development
system still available by NXP. The board is setup to track upstream
Linux and has been bumped from 4.1 to 4.15 (compared to p1010).
The target does not build uboot and assumes the user still uses the NXP
suggested prebuilts in the SDK2.0 (last release for PowerPC). If a
uboot is required, the source for SDK2.0 can be found in the following
repo.

This defconfig fails to build with gcc 6.x, even though we switched to
using gcc 6.x as the default gcc version in May 2017.
This defconfig also hasn't seen any non-mechanical update since
November 2015.
So it's time to get rid of it, in order to remove the following build
failure:

Currently 'run-tests -l' is broken. It breaks 'make .gitlab-ci.yml' that
in turn breaks the job in GitLab.
TestRustBase is not a test case by itself, so it can't have a method
with the name starting with "test_" otherwise nose2 assumes it is a test
case.
Move the test_run method from the base class to the derived classes.
While at it, update .gitlab-ci.yml with the new test cases.

The defconfig is dumped at the very beginning of the build log, but the
resulting .config is still interesting to get, in case some settings did
not end up in there (e.g. because of the host gcc version, or because of
conflicting settings, or because the Config.in changed without the tests
being updated, or...).
So, add the .config to the list of artefacts to save.

Introduce imx6-sabreauto_defconfig that uses mainline U-Boot and
mainline kernel.
As mainline U-Boot supports SPL, it is possible to boot the same
sdcard.img in the three mx6sabreauto variants: imx6q, imx6dl and imx6qp.
Also update the readme.txt file to explain how to build an image for
mx6sabreauto boards using mainline U-Boot and kernel.

This is similar to the ppc64_pseries config, except we build for little
endian instead of big endian.
The default architecture is set to Power8 as this was the first fully
enabled LE machine.

grub is no longer maintained: it is stuck at version 0.97 with huge
patches that have no opportunity to be applied upstream, as upstream
has even renamed it grub-legacy.
Besides, it no longer builds correctly with recent binutils versions,
and even the huge patches we could grab from Debian do not help the
slightest.
Since upstream really considers it dead, and there are at least two
alternatives (grub2 and syslinux), just remove grub.
Add a legacy entry.
Remove the test cases as well.

The TS-7680 is an i.MX286 ARM ARM926EJ-S board with 10/100 Ethernet,
USB port, eMMC and CAN ports.
The TS-7680 uses a 3.14.28 Linux kernel provided by Technologic Systems:

Currently kernel mainline exhibits issues when running cpufreq as ondemand
governor on mx6, so add a linux fragment that disables such option for the
time being.

- Remove strace and host-uboot-tools, neither seems to be needed
- Drop BR2_PACKAGE_QT5BASE_LICENSE_APPROVED, it no longer exists
- Replace BR2_TARGET_ROOTFS_EXT2_BLOCKS with BR2_TARGET_ROOTFS_EXT2_SIZE
- Regenerate .gitlab-ci.yml]
