e6b3913cfc package: use the generic _HELP_CMDS for kconfig-based packages
As Thomas put it:

    The <pkg>_HELP_CMDS variable allows packages using the
    kconfig-package infrastructure to display their specific
    targets related to the handling of their configuration.

    However, it was not consistently used and handled by the
    different packages.

So, this commit switches all the kconfig-based package to use the
generic help helper.

As a consequence:

  - all kconfig packages now advetise their kconfig-related actions,
    where some were previously missing: at91bootstrap3, linux-backports,
    swupdate, xvisor;

  - busybox advertises it does not support defconfig files;

  - the 'foo-savedfconfig' action is no longer advertised: it is to be
    considered an internal implementation detail.

826d350fc3 uclibc: powerpc: fix PIE/PIC builds with secureplt enabled by default
Apply the fix provided by Yann Sionneau when secureplt is enabled
by default by gcc compiler along with PIE/PIC options.

"For the secure PLT to work in PIC, the r30 register needs to point to the GOT"

1f50a44371 package/uclibc: Patch with updated kernel time definitions
Building uclibc 1.0.37 for SuperH architecture with linux-headers 5.10.7
fails at libpthread level due to missing time-related data structures,
usually defined by the kernel. Make uclibc correctly define those types.

A previous patch in buildroot [1] fixed the symptom by tampering with
linux-headers inclusions, but analysis [2] done in collaboration with
Linux folks concluded that the issue lied in (voluntary) include guard
"preemption" in uclibc kernel_types.h.
However, kernel_types.h was not up to date with relevant 64-bit time
data structures, so defining those here was needed.

The present uclibc patch was mailed to uclibc-ng mailing list and got
a positive response; I am not able to give a link to the discussion,
as it has not appeared yet [3] (perhaps I'm not looking at the right
place ?)
So until the patch is merged upstream and we bump uclibc version, keep
our patch here.

7a5873ce5a toolchain/toolchain-buildroot: only riscv64 is supported by uClibc-ng
The commit [1] enabled riscv32 and riscv64 for uClibc-ng
internal toolchain backend but only riscv64 is curently
supported by uClibc-ng.

The initial patch [2] from Mark Corbin is only about riscv64.

Remove riscv32 from uClibc-ng supported architecture list.

209a082478 toolchain/toolchain-buildroot: allow uclibc-ng for riscv
uclibc-ng supports the RISC-V architecture since version 1.0.31, so
let's allow selecting this C library when RISC-V is used.

There was a previous attempt in commit
bd9810e176, which was reverted in
e7d631c0df, due to uClibc-ng not
implementing the __riscv_flush_icache() which is needed by
gcc. However this function has been implemented in upstream uClibc-ng
as of 1.0.35, so we can now safely re-enable uClibc-ng on RISC-V.

689fe66100 package/uclibc: use HOSTCC_NOCCACHE as kconfig HOSTCC
uclibc is part of the toolchain, and as such does not have a dependency
on it. As a consequence, it does not have a dependency on host-ccache,
when this is needed.

Usually, host-ccache is built before uclibc, as part of the dependency
of gcc-initial, host-binutils, and a few other host packages that are
built before uclibc.

However, during top-level parallel builds, this ordering is only ever
guaranteed at the beginning of the configure step, and not before.

But for kconfig-packages, the moment we apply the configuration to
prepare the .config file is a pseudo step that happens somewhere in
limbo between the patch step and the configure step. As such, the
build ordering that is otherwise guaranteed by the _DEPENDENCIES is not
applicable yet.

And so, with top-level parallel builds with ccache enabled, there is
nothing that guarantees host-ccache to be built and installed by the
time we are trying to generate uclibc's .config file, which can be quite
early in the build process, and thus the build fails:

The root cause is that uclibc sets;

    UCLIBC_KCONFIG_OPTS = $(UCLIBC_MAKE_FLAGS) [...]

with:

    UCLIBC_MAKE_FLAGS = [...] HOSTCC="$(HOSTCC)"

And then the kconfig-package infra calls to the configurators,
menuconfig, xconfig et al, but also olddefconfig et al.. with:

    [...] $($(1)_MAKE) [...] $(PKG_KCONFIG_COMMON_OPTS) $($(1)_KCONFIG_OPTS) [...]

with (note a latent bug in there, will be fixed in another patch):

    PKG_KCONFIG_COMMON_OPTS = HOSTCC=$(HOSTCC_NOCCACHE)

So, a HOSTCC as set by a package will always win onver the one set by
the infra, which is exactly what we want.

But in this case, uclibc sets HOSTCC so that it can build its host tools
needed during the build, and in doing so uses the ccache-enabled host c
compiler. Which might not yet be available for the kconfig-package infra
to generate the .config file.

We had a similar (non-)issue for the linux package, which was fixed in
commit 71a31b2357 (linux: use HOSTCC_NOCCACHE as kconfig HOSTCC).

But here, uclibc does not have the toolchain in its dependencies (as said
earlier, uclibc *is* part of the toolchain).

Since the host compiler is only used to build very few files to generate
the simple executable needed to generate the .config file, doing without
the ccache-enabled host compiler will be amply enough.

So, we override HOSTCC in UCLIBC_KCONFIG_OPTS, to use the non-cached
host compiler.

Note that, in a first approximation, one would be tempted to change the
ordering in the kconfig-package infra:

        $($(1)_KCONFIG_OPTS) $(PKG_KCONFIG_COMMON_OPTS)

so that the non-cached HOSTCC always wins over the cached one. But this
would be incorrect, in cases where the package really needs to override
HOSTCC; indeed we want the package-provided values to always win over
the default ones providing by the infra.

e7d631c0df Revert "toolchain/toolchain-buildroot: enable uclibc for riscv64"
This reverts commit bd9810e176. Indeed,
while uClibc-ng has support for RISC-V 64-bit, this support lacks the
__riscv_flush_icache() function call, which is used by some GCC
builtins used for example in libffi.

Due to this missing __riscv_flush_icache(), anything that links
against libffi fails to build:

Note that this commit means that
support/config-fragments/autobuild/br-riscv64-full-internal.config
will be back to using glibc as the C library, but that is OK, until
uClibc-ng is fixed to implemented __riscv_flush_icache().

This uClibc-ng issue has been reported upstream at
https://mailman.uclibc-ng.org/pipermail/devel/2020-August/002022.html.

bd9810e176 toolchain/toolchain-buildroot: enable uclibc for riscv64
We can enable uclibc for RISC-V 64 bit now that it has been
bumped from v1.0.32 to v1.0.34.

Uclibc has had basic support for RISC-V 64 bit since v1.0.31, but
shared library and TLS/NPTL support has only been available since
v1.0.33.

This update has been tested using qemu_riscv64_virt_defconfig and
the Buildroot host QEMU.

"GCC 10 (PR 91233) won't silently allow registers that are not architecturally
available to be present in the clobber list anymore, resulting in build failure
for mips*r6 targets in form of:

This is because base R6 ISA doesn't define hi and lo registers w/o DSP extension.

8723c5e7a6 package/uclibc: fix ctype.h is*_l definitions
ctype locale-specific macro definitions are broken because they result
in dereference of pointer to structure of incomplete type.
Drop these macros since they are optional and let applications use
functions with the same names.

08d25f3942 package/uclibc: backport patch to remove asm constraint on sparc
uClibc-ng don't build with gcc 9.1 [1] on sparc due to a new check
that "catch illegal asm constraint usage" [2]. This issue has been
fixed in upstream uclibc-ng, so we simply backport the fix.

7eb857f199 package/uclibc: fix preadv/pwritev offset argument type
preadv/pwritev don't provide separate version for 64-bit wide off_t,
and default to 32-bit wide off_t, which results in a mismatch between
declaration and definition for user programs built with
-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64.

435613ef29 toolchain: disable SSP support if CFI support in binutils is missing
As reported by [1], SSP support is missing in the Buildroot toolchain
for microblaze even if it's requested by selecting
BR2_TOOLCHAIN_HAS_SSP config option.

In Buildroot, we are using libssp provided by the C library (glibc,
musl, uClibc-ng) when available. We are not using libssp from gcc.

So for a microblaze glibc based toolchain, the SSP support is enabled
unconditionally by a select BR2_TOOLCHAIN_HAS_SSP.

While building the toolchain, we are building host-binutils which
provide "as" (assembler) and host-gcc-initial wich provide a
minimal cross gcc (C only cross-compiler without any C library).
When SSP support is requested, gcc_cv_libc_provides_ssp=yes is
added to the make command line (see [2] for full details)

With this setting, the SSP support is requested but it's not available
in the end and the toochain build succeed.

When the microblaze toolchain is imported to Biuldroot (2018.05) as
external toolchain with BR2_TOOLCHAIN_EXTERNAL_HAS_SSP set, the build
stop with :
"SSP support not available in this toolchain, please disable BR2_TOOLCHAIN_EXTERNAL_HAS_SSP"

The test is doing the following command line:

echo 'void main(){}' | [...]/host/bin/microblazeel-linux-gcc.br_real -Werror -fstack-protector -x c - -o [...]/build/.br-toolchain-test.tmp
cc1: error: -fstack-protector not supported for this target [-Werror]

When we look at the gcc-final log file (config.log) we can see this
error several time when using the minimal gcc (from host-gcc-initial).
So Why the minimal gcc doesn't support SSP?

When we look at the gcc-initial log file (config.log) we can see an
error with 'as':

This is the only relevant difference compared to a nios2 toolchain where
libssp is enabled and available (nios2 is an example).

"CFI" stand for "Control Flow Integrity" and it seems that SSP support
requires CFI target support (see [3] for some explanation).

The SSP support seems to depends on CFI support, but the toolchain
infrastructure is not detailed enough to handle the CFI dependency.

The NiosII toolchains built with binutils < 2.30 are also affected by
this issue.

This patch improve the toolchain infrastructure by adding a new
BR2_PACKAGE_HOST_BINUTILS_SUPPORTS_CFI blind option

Disable SSP support for microblaze entirely.
Disable SSP support for nios2 only with Binutils < 2.30.

d9c3f93f3f uclibc: ldso/arc: fix LD_DEBUG segv when printing R_ARC_NONE
Dynamic linker used to segfault on attempt to print info
about R_ARC_NONE reloaction.

The fix is already in upstream master [1],
should be removed on uClibc version bump.

58dcd28dfb arch: drop now useless support for FDPIC
Now that we dropped support for blackfin, we no longer have any
architecture that supports FDPIC, so BR2_ARCH_HAS_FDPIC_SUPPORT
is never selected, so we can't select BR2_BINFMT_FDPIC.

Drop all of that now.

9cb6caf891 uclibc: ARC: Don't mess with CPU selection
Since uClibc-ng commit cde74b83f9b2 "ARC: remove special CFLAGS/LDFLAGS handling"
i.e. starting v1.0.23 CONFIG_ARC_CPU_xx options are not used.

Instead uClibc relies on toolchain defaults or build-system CFLAGS
for selection of ARC-specific code (i.e. distinguishes between
ARCompact and ARCv2 ISAs).

So we drop corresponding quirks from Buildroot as well.

7fb6fe883a uclibc: backport upstream patch adding fcntl definitions on OpenRISC
A number of fcntl.h definitions were missing on OpenRISC in uClibc-ng,
causing build failures such as:

gfile.c: In function 'splice_stream_with_progress':
gfile.c:3017:35: error: 'F_SETPIPE_SZ' undeclared (first use in this function)
   buffer_size = fcntl (buffer[1], F_SETPIPE_SZ, 1024 * 1024);

This comit backports a patch that was merged in upstream uClibc-ng,
which addresses this problem.

0908b8ecad uclibc: simplify UCLIBC_EXTRA_CFLAGS
Since commit f66952197b ("package/gcc:
remove gcc 4.8"), UCLIBC_EXTRA_CFLAGS no longer exists, and is
therefore always empty.

Passing the Buildroot make variable UCLIBC_EXTRA_CFLAGS into the
UCLIBC_EXTRA_CFLAGS fed into uClibc's make environment therefore no
longer makes sense. Therefore, just pass $(TARGET_ABI).

2277fdeca8 package/*/Config.in: fix help text check-package warnings
This commit fixes the warnings reported by check-package on the help
text of all package Config.in files, related to the formatting of the
help text: should start with a tab, then 2 spaces, then at most 62
characters.

The vast majority of warnings fixed were caused by too long lines. A
few warnings were related to spaces being used instead of a tab to
indent the help text.
