"Even though the ordering has absolutely no consequences in Kconfig, it
is not logical (when reading). It is more logical and far easier to
understand when depends come first, followed by the selects."
Also, the Config.in example in the manual suggests to use this coding
style [2]."
Use the correct coding style in the chapter "Choosing depends on or select"

Commit 1ba85b7f87 (support/download: add explicit no-hash support)
introduced the 'none' hash type, in an attempt to make hash files
mandatory, but not failing on archives localy generated, like those
for git or svn repositories, especially for those packages where a
version choice was present, which would allow for either remote
archives for which we'd have a hash or VCS trees for which we could
not have a hash for the localy generated archive.
Indeed, back in the time, we did not have a mean to generate
reproducible archives, so having a hash file without a hash for
thosel ocally generated archives would trigger an error in the
hash-checking machinery.
But now, low-and-behold, we do know how to generate those archives,
and we have a mechanism to explicitly exclude some archives from being
hash-checked (e.g. when the version string itself can be user-provided).
As such, the 'none' hash type no longer has any raison d'être, we do not
use it in-tree, and its use in a br2-external tree is most probably
inexistent (as is the use of hash files alotgether most probably).
So we simply drop the support for that.

toolchain-common.in is a Config.in file with an uncommon name.
It is just included by toolchain/Config.in, and toolchain/Config.in is
not that long, so instead of renaming the file, merge it to

When we have multiple versions for a package, and the licensing terms
depend on the version actually selected (e.g. like Qt5), storing the
hashes for those license files in the .hash file is broken: the infra
will ensure that all hashes for a file do match, which would not be the
case here.
We fix that by first looking for a hash file in the version sub-dir
first, and if that does not exist, then we use the main hash file.
Drop the useless intermediate variable 'ret'.
Update the documentation accordingly.

This commit updates the manual about hashes, fixing a number of
issues:
- Adding the .hash file should no longer be optional: it *must* be
added. Therefore the wording "You can add ..." is changed to "When
possible, you must add ...".
- We are now checking hashes for Git downloaded packages, so fix this
as well, and indicate more clearly which download methods have hash
checking.
- We no longer want to have auto-generated patches be downloaded
through <pkg>_PATCH because such patches are not stable over time,
and their hash can change. For example, downloading patches from
github.com should no longer be done.

Add support to explicitly state that an archive has no hash.
This can be used for archives downloaded from a repository, like a
git-clone or a subversion checkout, or using the github helper.
This will come in handy when we'll eventually make hashes mandatory as
soon as a .hash file exists: for some packages, like gcc, some versions
are downloaded as archives from upstream, while other versions may come
from a GitHub repository (via the github herlper).
In this case, a .hash file would exist, that contains hashes for the
downloaded tarballs, but archives downloaded from the repository would
not have a hash (since it is currently not possible to have reproducible
such archives). So, we'd need a way to explicitly state there is no
hash, on purpose, for those archives.
So, add 'none' as a new type of hash.

Since a while, the semantic of BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB has been changed
from "prefer static libraries when possible" to "use only static
libraries". The former semantic didn't make much sense, since the user
had absolutely no control/idea of which package would use static
libraries, and which packages would not. Therefore, for quite some
time, we have been starting to enforce that BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB
should really build everything with static libraries.
As a consequence, this patch renames BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to
BR2_STATIC_LIBS, and adjust the Config.in option accordingly.
This also helps preparing the addition of other options to select
shared, shared+static or just static.
Note that we have verified that this commit can be reproduced by
simply doing a global rename of BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to
BR2_STATIC_LIBS plus adding BR2_PREFER_STATIC_LIB to Config.in.legacy.

Asciidoc supports two syntaxes for section titles: two-line titles (title
plus underline consisting of a particular symbol), and one-line titles
(title prefixed with a specific number of = signs).
The two-line title underlines are:
Level 0 (top level): ======================
Level 1: ----------------------
Level 2: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Level 3: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Level 4 (bottom level): ++++++++++++++++++++++
and the one-line title prefixes:
= Document Title (level 0) =
== Section title (level 1) ==
=== Section title (level 2) ===
==== Section title (level 3) ====
===== Section title (level 4) =====
The buildroot manual is currenly using the two-line titles, but this has
multiple disadvantages:
- asciidoc also uses some of the underline symbols for other purposes (like
preformatted code, example blocks, ...), which makes it difficult to do
mass replacements, such as a planned follow-up patch that needs to move
all sections one level down.
- it is difficult to remember which level a given underline symbol (=-~^+)
corresponds to, while counting = signs is easy.
This patch changes all two-level titles to one-level titles in the manual.
The bulk of the change was done with the following Python script, except for
the level 1 titles (-----) as these underlines are also used for literal
code blocks.
This patch only changes the titles, no other changes. In
adding-packages-directory.txt, I did add missing newlines between some
titles and their content.
