Add support for uclibc NPTL toolchain. This patch modifies current toolchain build sequence so that NPTL enabled toolchain can be built. The new sequence works well with linuxthreads as well. It introduces a new pass for gcc cross compilation. The new sequence is binutils->gcc-initial->linux-headers -> uclibc-configured (some cheats to generate phony shared libc.so and libm.o) -> gcc-intermediate(with shared lib support) -> uclibc -> gcc-final I also added a new sample config arm_nptl_toolchain_defconfig which builds the toolchain and busybox. I have only tried it on arm. uclibc-snapshot: enable option UCLIBC_HAS_OBSTACK Prior to uClibc commit f143f920694c, uClibc used to always include the gnu obstack extension, which is used and required by many tools, such as binutils. Because of the change mentioned above, obstack is now optional, and got disabled per default, so enable it in the uClibc snapshot configuration file. uclibc: run snapshot and ng configs through "savedefconfig" Recently uClibc got support of "savedefconfig" target that allows generation of compact configuration description which only lists differences from default options. That's uClibc commit - http://git.uclibc.org/uClibc/commit/?id=e286a674419d31cb0757dd2f8307d8b4756cf1f9 This change represents post-processing of "uClibc-snapshot.defconfig" and "uClibc-ng.config" with "make savedefconfig" made on current uClibc/master and uClibc-ng/1.0 branches accordingly. Unfortunately the most recent stable uClibc version 0.9.33.2 doesn't have "savedefconfig" target so I'm leaving uClibc-0.9.33.config as it is. uClibc: drop BR2_PROGRAM_INVOCATION option Remove the BR option and enable the configuration setting in the uClibc defconfigs. The BR2_PROGRAM_INVOCATION option only adds very little overhead to uClibc, and we have a number of packages needing it, so simply always enable it - Simplifying the kconfig logic and the number of choices users have to make. toolchain/uClibc: enable UCLIBC_SUPPORT_AI_ADDRCONFIG Enable AI_ADDRCONFIG support in uClibc otherwise we don't get the ifaddrs.h header installed and thus lack getifaddrs support. Quite useful for samba for example so we can use interfaces=eth0 statements in the configuration file rather than klunkier interfaces=192.168.1.1/255.255.255.0 ones. uclibc: build uclibc unstripped by default uClibc can be built stripped (implemented as link-time option in uClibc). This could be useful for those who build root fs manually. In Buildroot there is a global strip stage wich strips most of shared libs in "target" folder (wexcept kernel modules known to not work properly being stripped and libpthread required to be non-stripped for correct debugging with gdb of multi-threaded apps). So there're few problems with current implementation: 1. uClibc is being stripped 2 times (first on its build stage, second on global Buildroot strip stage) 2. uClibc libs in "staging" folder are also always stripped except if "no strip" (BR2_STRIP_none) is explicitly is selected in Buildroot config. That makes it possible to remote debug uClibc libs on target only if target rootfs was not stripped (which might not be possible due to huge libs like Qt) This patch disables embedded strip in uClibc (still users may modify uClibc config and explicitly set "DOSTRIP=yes" if really needed). Interesting that DOSTRIP was not only selected in uClibc config but also was force set with Buildroot on uClibc configuration step with UCLIBC_STRIP_CONFIG.
